For the second year in a row, our MyArea Network fashionistas took down Miami Swim Week. This year they knew what to expect, where to go plus where to stay; and we are sharing all the inside scoop with our fashion loving friends right here!

The swim shows are hosted in various hotels and venues on Miami Beach, even though downtown hotels are a penny saver, the monetary value and efficiency is best when staying at the beach. Twenty dollar Uber rides from Downtown Miami do add up. For lodging, we chose the cutest boutique hotel, Casa Faena, in the Faena district of mid-beach. The hotel is draped in Spanish style decor. As you walk into what almost feels like a 1950s cafe in Barcelona; where they serve burgers that are made to perfection with along with drinks that look too good to sip. The detailed decor was the best finishing touch.

We visited Maxine's Bistro and Bar on two occasions for a late lunch and a brunch. Maxine's serves up $5 mimosas all day long including a fun atmosphere with outdoor patio and indoor bar area to include sports such as the World Cup finals playing on the large screen TVs.  Our meals were delicious as well as reasonably priced. Burger sliders for $12 and eggs breakfast from $12 to $14. In Miami Beach, that would be called a steal!

The highlight of each day was covering the Miami Swim Week shows to catch all the swimsuit and resort trends for 2018-2019. So it began at the Paraiso fashion fair on South beach, their shows included brands popular brands Monday Swimwear, Aguaclara and Sports Illustrated.  Let's not forget a few notable attendees, celebrity Ryan Phillipe and NBA player Andre Drummond. We discovered fab resort styles and swimwear for every shape. So we narrowed it to our top three.

Showcased by Baes and Bikinis, is the SEXY CROCHET. Swimsuits made in all crochet fabric, with a Victoria's Secret like feel. Edgy skirted cover-ups were also part of the show.  A bonus on the runway were leather tops and see-through crochet pants which appeared to be haute pool party looks to wear in big cities like Chicago or New York.

STONE FOX SWIM 2019 collections put the H in hot when models strutted the catwalk in the CHIC CUT swimwear. Be sure to enjoy high-end quality made suits in solid golden colors and modern floral print styles. But, what we loved the most was the unique effect of each of the classy Stone Fox bathing suits.

The Luli Fama Swimwear runway showcased filled our eyes with SUMMER ELEGANCE after getting a view of the most alluring feminine fashions, beautifully designed to don at your next resort vacation. You could never go wrong with tropical floral prints and bright monochromatic. We believe the Luli Fama line is for those who command attention in elegant fashion.

Many other fun events occur during Swim Week. The Art Hearts Fashion, Cabana Swim, Planet Fashion, Aurora Swim Shows are just a few. Whether you prefer international designs or Made in the US, there is something for everyone and every figure at Miami Swim Week.
