We should appreciate the little things in life, you know, like enjoying a good cookout surrounded by family and friends! Luckily, Miami has a great number of parks and locations where you can spend the whole afternoon sharing stories and sipping a few beers by the grill. Keep reading and learn more about some of the best places to have a cookout in Miami.

C. B. Smith Park

The C.B. Smith Park is a great open area with different sections where visitors can practice a variety of sports (tennis anyone?) as well as get in a refreshing jog surrounded by nature. The park is located in Pembroke Pines, and also features many cookout spaces with grills and picnic tables, making it easy for you and your friends to enjoy a great barbecue next to the nearby lakes.

South Pointe Park

South Pointe is another amazing place for a cookout. It’s in one of the less-crowded areas in South Beach and enjoys a variety of features like a dog park, kid’s areas, and more. Seeing as it is also next to one of the city’s most beautiful beaches, it’s a prime spot to have a picnic during a breezy afternoon near the beach.

Tropical Park

Also making our list of the best places to have a cookout in Miami is Tropical Park, located near Coral Terrace in South Miami. Tennis courts, softball, and football are just a few of the activities visitors can enjoy within the park’s facilities, as well as a number of picnic areas and bike trails next to its four lovely lakes.

Matheson Hammock County Park

The Matheson Hammock Park is located just south of Coral Gables. It is a beautifully-designed beach park with plenty of picnic areas and pavilions where visitors can host parties and other special events. The park’s scenic views and its atoll pool are some of its greatest features. It's also one of the most unique places to catch a sunset in the city. It offers other facilities such as a snack bar, restaurant, and it’s located near the magnificent Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.

Haulover Park + Marina

Probably one of the most popular parks featured on this list, Haulover Park is a 1.5-mile coastal expanse located north of Bal Harbour. It has a dog park, tennis courts, a marina, and a recreational area with picnic tables at its southern end. It’s a great place to bring your barbecue gear and start grilling! Oh, and in case you’re wondering, visitors are also able to take a nude dip in the ocean on the northernmost section of the park.

Oleta River State Park

Situated in North Miami Beach, the Oleta River State Park is an amazing place to unwind and disconnect from the city, and it’s a haven for bikers, paddlers, and kayakers in Miami. With beautiful views of Biscayne Bay, a cookout with the family at the park or a peaceful fishing session on the weekends is always a good idea here!
