Miami's clubs and beaches make it a magnet for celebrities, tourists, and spring breakers from all over the world. If you've live here long enough, you've probably come across people in the city for a Miami weekend. It's pretty much a year-long ritual, and while one weekend isn't enough time to fully experience Miami's nightlife and culinary options, it  gives you just enough time to hit the essentials. If you're planning on visiting the Magic City, here's your guide to making the most of your weekend in Miami.

Checking in at the EDITION Miami Beach should be your first order of business. Ideally located on South Beach, The Edition is not only one of Miami's most posh hotels, it's a veritable playground for adults. This is largely because Basement Miami lies underneath as its name suggests with a lounge, bar, and club, making it consistently one of Miami's best nights out. If you're looking for convenience, definitely spend your first night in Miami at the Edition.

Naturally, you didn't fly or drive all the way down to Miami just to hang out at your hotel: you have places to go and people to meet! We'd recommend starting at the Clevelander. It's a quick Uber or Lyft ride away from the Edition and regularly hosts one of South Beach's best beach parties. Drink and dance under the sun while shuffling back and forth between the bar and the warm sand.

But, of course, you can't just have a drink at Clevelander. Wet Willie's serves up some of the best (and strongest) drinks you'll find in Miami, so be sure to swing by at some point during your day drink-scapades.

No visit to Miami would be complete without shopping and dining on Lincoln Road Mall. Florida's premier strip mall, it's not only a place to shop and eat, but a place to be seen. There are few better locales for people-watching than Lincoln Road Mall, and we recommend grabbing a bite at Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, which is widely regarded as Miami's best Italian restaurant.

While you're in Miami for the weekend, you have to party like a local at least one of night, and one of our preferred spot is the Foxhole, which is just a short walk away from Lincoln Road Mall. It's a speakeasy bar, so you'll definitely have to keep an eye for it as there are no large signs indicating its presence. However, if you're up for a more wild night with the locals, pay a visit to Purdy Lounge. Week after week, Foxhole and Purdy Lounge welcome locals looking for fun in Miami without the pretenses, so head over if you'd like to join in!

If you have enough stamina to hit up an after-hours bar, no Miami weekend is complete without checking out  E11EVEN MIAMI, Miami's only 24-hour club that rocks well into the morning. So why not interrupt your sleep schedule just this once by seeing a cabaret show and having another drink or two?

If you can squeeze it in, visiting Wynwood should certainly be on the to-do list for your weekend in Miami. Wynwood Walls is a good place to start as it's scenic and epitomizes Wynwood's artsy vibe, and if your last day in town is Sunday, head over for a brunch. From The Butcher Shop MIA to  Wynwood Diner, be prepared for a scrumptious brunch to ease out of the hangover. Both locales serve bottomless brunch, so you could probably just pick up where you left off Saturday night!
