From parties and views to sports and art, Miami has something to offer everyone. However, one locally underrated aspect of the city is its gaming culture. The city is home to a few of the regions premier entertainment centers where locals gamble, play and drink the day away. Like the rest of town, Miami’s top casinos have something to offer everyone.

The granddaddy of Miami casinos, the moniker Magic City, isn’t just a reference to Miami’s nickname. This sprawling entertainment center feels like it has a city and culture all its own. Located a short distance from Marlins Park, there’s plenty of reason to be in the area as often as possible. Magic City sports over 800 Las Vegas-style slot machines, an uber-competitive poker room with 19 tables, electronic game tables, and a player’s club. There also an amphitheater that regularly invites some of the most prominent acts in music and comedy. And after fun gaming and a show, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and lounges where you can unwind.

A relative newcomer, Calder Casino opened in Miami Gardens in 2010. However, Calder initially made its name as one of Miami’s premier horseracing venues in the 1970s. Using its local cache and brand name value as a springboard, Calder has quickly become one of Miami’s top casinos. Its spacious gaming room is 100,000 square feet with over 1,100 slot machines, including video poker. And because gaming works up an appetite, you’ll have to swing by Calder Casino’s buffet.

Miami Wynwood is a treasure trove of entertainment and possibilities, and Casino Miami is proof of this. Wynwood is known for its art scene and nightlife, but the casino is certainly worth a visit. Casino Miami offers 40,000 square feet of world-class gaming and entertainment with over 1,000 state-of-the-art Las Vegas-style slot machines and an electronic table game area featuring digital Blackjack and Roulette games. There’s also live entertainment at Club Rio, tasty beverages at Whiskies Bar, and Jai-Alai.

Another one of South Florida’s historic racetracks, Hialeah Park Racing and Casino opened in 1922. But while the track is a South Florida fixture, the casino is a relatively new local presence. Known as the world’s most beautiful race course, Hialeah Park Racing made its transformation into a full-fledged entertainment center in 2010. Today, it houses 882 slot machines, 33 poker tables, a full-service hotel, movie theater, and an outlet shopping village.

There are many reasons to visit the city of Miami. But if you’ve ever enjoyed gaming and want an all-encompassing entertainment experience, a visit to one of Miami’s top casinos is in order. (Photos from Facebook Photos)
