Event Details
Prepare to be transported through time and genre at Nu Deco’s final performance at the Arsht this season! The program will include 20th-century composer Maurice Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite,” and a special collaboration with R&B singer Durand Jones and singer-songwriter, GRAMMY nominee, and past Nu Deco collaborator Emily King. We're also thrilled to present a reimagination of the music of nine-time GRAMMY winner, Rihanna. This program will also feature the world premiere of an orchestral commission from multi-instrumentalist and composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. Atwood-Ferguson, a contributor to over 500 recordings and scores for television and film with musicians such as Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Thundercat, combines an array of genres ranging from jazz to folk to hip hop, creating a sound entirely his own.
