The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is the Florida component of the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed). It is a partnership between USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, Florida Department of Children and Families, University of Florida/IFAS (Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences), and local Florida County Extension Offices.
The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP) mission is to help limited-resource families in Florida access more nutritious food choices on a budget and adopt healthier eating and physical activity habits to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease.
They offer free nutrition education in schools, child care centers, and in communities. They also work to improve access to healthy foods and change the environment in which adults and children make choices about food and fitness. Their free programs are offered in 40 Florida counties.
They change the environment in which adults and children make choices about food and fitness, so the healthy choice becomes the easy choice.
They partner with community and state organizations, including worksites, child care centers, senior centers, public libraries, parks, and other locations to provide free classes to people where they learn, play, live, work, shop and eat.

Mark your calendars for the 3rd Saturday of every month.
