Come help us celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis at Everglades National Park on Veteran's Day!
Event Details
On the fee-free day of Veteran's Day Friday November 11, 2022, we will host a special event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
This event is free and opened to the public! We will have special speakers speak to the public about the Cuban Missile Crisis, the legacy of the Cold War and the Nike Missile Soldier experience in the Everglades.
We will also have actual Nike Missile Veterans do a Question and Answer session to educate visitors about their time of duty in the glades.
We will celebrate their achievements and talk about preservation and how future generations can remember the Cold War.
In addition, a ranger-led tour of the HM-69 Nike Missile Base will be offered at 2PM or a self-guided drive thru of the missile base will be available for visitors from 10AM-2PM.
