There are vegetarian options such as the La Hacienda Veggie, which is cheese and veggies in a soft corn tortilla served with traditional sides. The portions are filling, so be sure to save room for the frozen margaritas and sopapillas.

El Rancho Grande Mexican Restaurant Kendall- Rancho Grande is a local favorite. Located in Kendall, this place has excellent service, large portion sizes, and quality food. The burrito de Carne is delicious as is the carnitas tacos and enchilada Suiza con Pollo. Breakfast is served on the weekends only, and there’s also a mariachi band that plays some nights. This place gets packed but the guacamole makes it worth it. 

El TaquitoIf you’re looking to fall into a pleasant food coma, you’ve got to come here. Each taco at this Mexican restaurant in Miami choice is made fresh to order and is priced at $5 for three. Some favorites are the chorizo and beef tacos and the “al pastor” that has pineapple in it. While this shop serves up a mean taco, other options are available. The tortas, Mexican sandwiches, and quesadillas are tasty. There’s no seating here.

Jacalito Taqueria Mexicana-This small restaurant located on Flagler and 36th Avenue shouldn’t be passed for its hole in the wall appearance. Where it lacks ambiance, the fresh and tasty flavors shine brightly. Jacalito is often referred to as “The Best Mexican Restaurant” in Miami. The fajitas and enchiladas are a must-try. Feel free to bring your herbivore friends! Vegan and vegetarian-friendly options are available. 

Mi Rinconcito MexicanoA warm smile welcomes guests at this restaurant in Little Havana where a cheat meal is a norm. The combinations, perfect for a first-time guest, are enormous. This place is authentic and is said to be the closest thing to Socal tacos you’ll get in Miami. Speaking of tacos, the al pastor and steak....delicious.

Miami River CafeThis hidden gem located in Little Havana feels like Mexico. The staff is sweet, and the atmosphere is homey. The menu here is significant, laden with traditional dishes such as tortas, enchiladas, flautas, soups, and tacos. Cheese lovers will be pleased with the queso fundido, a chorizo appetizer that is pure cheesy goodness. 

Paquito's Mexican RestaurantFor a casual place to relax with friends while eating delicious food as good as homemade, Paquito's is the place to go. Waitresses are dressed in traditional Mexican attire, which adds to this Mexican restaurant in Miami's attitude. Recommended menu options are the beef fajitas, chimichangas and the tostadas with shredded chicken; a large meal loaded with ingredients.

Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila BarFor an outing with hip décor and tasty food, Tacocraft is the place to go. The “Traditional Guacamole” appetizer is perfection and will please even the most critical guacamole connoisseur. Other delectable menu options include the brisket taco, chicken quesadilla and the oxtail empanadas bursting with meat, cheese and pineapple salsa. While the tacos are on the smaller side, there are unique flavors to try and share with friends. 

Talavera Cocina MexicanaThis classy Mexican restaurant serves delicious drinks. They serve up a mean margarita selection sure to keep you at the bar all night. Aside from the booze, the food is terrific too. A tasty main dish and dessert combo is their enchilada suizas packed with flavor followed by the bread pudding, mango-strawberry paleta or guava cheesecake. 

Taqueria Viva MéxicoTacos are usually the go-to food when craving Mexican food, so lucky for us this place makes incredible tacos. Tacos are the only option on the menu, and no alcohol is served, but with significant flavor and low prices that can easily be overlooked. They have the usual chicken and beef tacos, but also out of the box options such as pig ear or tongue. Recommended choices are tripa, lengua, campechano and chicharron en salsa verde, which is served on the weekend.
