Event Details

Martin has overseen exhibitions by Mary Corse, Dan Flavin, Blinky Palermo, Keith Sonnier and Andy Warhol among others. Previously, she served at Brown University, Vanderbilt University, Ford Foundation and University of California, Berkeley, and held fellowships at Getty and Henry Moore Research Institutes.

She curated “Drop, Roll, Slide, Drip…Frank Bowling’s Poured Paintings 1973-1978” for Tate Britain, and co-curated the group show, “Minimal Baroque: Post-Minimalism and Contemporary Art,” at Rønnebæksholm in Denmark.

Martin was co-editor of “Lawrence Alloway: Critic and Curator” (winner of the Historians of British Art Book Award) and editor of “Four Generations: The Joyner Giuffrida Collection of Abstract Art.” She earned a doctorate from Yale University, an Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant, and authored essays on artists including Rasheed Araeen, Kader Attia, Rina Banerjee, Lara Favaretto, Leslie Hewitt, Asger Jorn, Wangechi Mutu, Ed Ruscha and Yinka Shonibare.
