“If Seats Could Talk: the Story of Miami Marine Stadium”
Sixty Artists from Miami were given seats removed from the Historic Miami Marine Stadium to create art with found objects. A limited number of these incredibly creative seat artworks will be presented at the world premier Miami Marine Stadium Talking Seats artwork preview exhibit. The featured artists are: Bibi Andrade, Becca Butler, Alfredo Cappelli, Elisa Cellini, Georgie Hernandez, Adam Thompson, Vickie Pierre, Rush Bowles.

The Miami Marine Stadium is an architectural gem - Miami's Sydney Opera House - on Biscayne Bay housed on Virginia Key in Miami, Florida designed by Cuban exile architect Hilario Candela in 1963 for powerboat racing, boxing and featuring concerts on a floating stage. Some of the world-renowned artists that performed at the Miami Marine Stadium were Jimmy Buffett, Ray Charles, Basia, Sammy Davis, Jr., Chuck Mangione, Bonnie Raitt, Afro-pop superstar Fela Kuti, and hundreds of other performers.
The Miami Marine Stadium was shuttered after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 by the City of Miami. The Stadium's structure was not damaged in the Hurricane. The City of Miami, along with many acclaimed architects, is now developing a road map to restore the Miami Marine Stadium. The Miami Marine Stadium features the best views of the skyline of Miami and Miami Beach.
There will be 1930s music, artist talks and drinks & small bites.
