Built in 1963 for boat racing and featuring concerts on a floating stage, the Miami Marine Stadium is considered to be an architectural marvel. Shuttered since 1992, it will now be renovated by the City of Miami. Don's power point presentation will focus on the Stadium's exciting past, the current status of proposed renovations, and its exciting future as one of the greatest outdoor venues in the world.
Don Worth is a long time Preservationist who lives with his wife Nina in Miami Beach. In 2008, he co-founded Friends of Miami Marine Stadium, the original group that advocated for restoration of the Stadium, and he remains involved in Stadium restoration efforts. Don has received the Peter S. Brink Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Henriette Harris award from Dade Heritage Trust for his work on the Stadium.
