Event Details

The Miami Collegium Musicum is a volunteer chamber choir under the direction of Dr. Donald Oglesby, who founded the ensemble in 1977 at the University of Miami. Today, the choir of 22-30 experienced vocalists is an independent non-profit organization that performs the finest choral music from the Renaissance to the present day. Our members are of different backgrounds and of all ages who share a commitment to the highest standards of vocal performance. Dr. Donald Oglesby is a nationally renowned choirmaster who served on the faculty of the University of Miami as Associate Director of Choral Music for 40 years. He was the founder of the Miami Bach Society.

Miami Collegium Musicum was the choir of the Miami Bach Society and performed with the Mainly Mozart Festival, the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Naples Philharmonic, and has toured in Europe and the United States. This season the choir will perform an all Bach concert with the Alhambra Orchestra in March 2019 and a Tribute to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Walt Whitman in May.
