During Bourbon Heritage Month, we ask fellow whiskey lovers to help us give back in support of distilling’s future. Throughout September, for every Angel’s Envy drink or bottle picture you share on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #ToastTheTrees, we’ll plant a white oak tree in your honor.











Securing the Future of Bourbon





By law, bourbon must be aged in new oak, and the most common type of tree harvested for North American cooperages is the white oak tree. Each tree takes over 70 years to reach maturity, and can yield between one and three barrels. With almost 20,000 barrels currently aging in our rickhouse, we’re still a relatively small operation; but, when you consider the massive popularity of bourbon, that’s a lot of trees to replace.






Growing a Forest





Thanks to your hashtagged photos over the last four years, we’ve planted 25,000 white oak trees with our partners at Arbor Day Foundation, and more recently Green Forests Work. We hope this year is our biggest yet, so we’ll need your help like never before to reach our goal. Help us grow the forests that will sustain the future of bourbon for generations to come.
