Area Stage Company is set to present an invigorating, original conservatory production of Green Day’s American Idiot, directed by the prolific John Rodaz, the troupe’s founder and artistic director. Winner of the Silver Palm Award for his direction of Cabaret and An Octoroon last year, Rodaz has his sights set on a story that is progressive, relatable, and conscious of the perspectives of American youth culture today. He, along with a cast of budding young actors from ASC’s renowned performing arts Conservatory hope to connect with audience members through the rebellious, passionate spirit of Green Day’s music.
