The saying goes that "time flies when you're having fun." Most of the time, this saying is nothing more than a cliche, but there are instances when something truly stands the test of time and warrants the saying. For a fun time like this, Miami locals can look no further than Ultra Music Festival 2018.

Trends come and go, especially in a city like Miami, but cultural phenomena are enduring, and Miami's epic Ultra Music Festival has been drawing in droves of music lovers for the last 20 years. Since the music festival has been going on for two decades now, there will be a special 20th-anniversary running from March 23 to 25 promising to maintain its status as a cross-generational phenomenon.

Music lovers from all over the world over congregate in Miami every March for Miami Music Week 2018, and while there are events throughout Wynwood, South Beach, and Downtown Miami, the Ultra Music Festival remains the cornerstone of the week. While this music festival began as a one-day event, it grew swiftly with more acts and bigger headliners, evolving into two days and later three. Home to the Ultra Music Festival, Bayfront Park is music capital of the world for three days, so if you plan on going, grab your tank tops and your most comfortable pair of shoes, and prepare your liver for 72 hours of work!

Miami Ultra Music Festival 2018 Lineup

If you know anything about the Ultra Music Festival, it's that its promoters release the lineups in phases, so we thought we should give you this overview in the same fashion. Ultra kicks the event off with its phase one lineup featuring notable acts capable of carrying their own solo international tours. The star-studded lineup includes Azaelia Banks, DJ Snake, Afrojack, and Empire of the Sun as well as Kaskade, DJ Tiesto, James Jones, and much more!

The second phase of announced artists at Ultra Music Festival 2018 matches the first set, so get your two-steps and head banging ready because Fischerspooner and Modestep are two of festival headliners music aficionados are clamoring over, but they aren't the only draw. Other performers include Benny Benassi, The Crystal Method, Oliver Heldens, and JAUZ. For you house lovers, Nora En Pure will be popping in to provide some tunes. and bassheads will rejoice when Ekali, QUIK, and KRANE grace the stage. But, of course, this is just scraping the surface of the Miami Ultra Music Festival 2018.

Like we said earlier, the Ultra Music Festival has rapidly expanded since its inception, and one of the results of that expansion is the Resistance Stage. The concept might remind you of the movie Inception as the Resistance Stage is essentially a festival with a festival. And who hasn't been purchasing tickets to a festival and thought, "We have to go deeper?" And deeper you'll go down a rabbit hole of sonic nirvana amid a cacophony of rhythm with Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber are rockin' as headliners on the Resistance Stage. As if the lineup wasn't great enough, these aren't the only heavy-hitters you have to look forward to at this two-stage romp.

If you've never attended the Ultra Music Festival, then you've never fully experienced Miami Music Week. And if you fancy yourself a music aficionado, you owe it to yourself to go at least once. Why not go in 2018 on their 20th anniversary for the biggest and best show yet?
